!!! SAIGON !!!

This is the Saigon Naval Support Activity known as Annapolis. When arriving or leaving Vietnam Brownwater Navy men received orientation and orders at this facility on Plantation Road near the Tan Son Nhut airport. After receiving orders men had to hitchhike by plane, helo, or boat to their new unit.
The extensive barbed wire, fencing and barriers are to prevent bombings and protect residents from rocket attacks.

The Plantation Road bar district was not my hangout when in Siagon. The Crew of the YRBM 20 preferred the 14 story President Hotel Downtown.
